Mother Song - Valimai Second Single Review

There's no dearth of mother sentiment songs in Tamil cinema music. Recently we had Boomiku Nee Vandha from Jail. Now, it's Mother Song from Valimai. Yuvan Shankar Raja has already given us beautiful songs on this theme - Aarariraro, Nizhalinai Nijamum, and Amma Song. This time he takes it two notches higher by composing a heart-melting tune. 

Beginning with a moving flute section, the song engages a slight rhythm to set the mood. Listening to Sid Sriram croon this number in his elegant voice is pure bliss. Everything about this song is so pleasing. Especially, Vignesh Shivan's lyrics would drive everyone to tears. Every line is quotable and that's the true beauty of the song. The lines 'Amma en mugavari nee...Amma en mudhalvari nee...' is addictive and would surely bring a lump in your throat.

Yuvan dots the interlude with another warm flute section. Since the song has only one charanam, we will be left wanting more and more of it. If you want to gift the perfect ode to your mother, make her listen to this song.
