10.Gori Tere Pyaar Mein- Vishal-Shekhar

This was a complete commercial album. It had numbers that were perfect for the dance floors and parties. Songs like 'Tooh' 'Chingam chabake' and 'Dhat teri ki' were chartbusters while 'Naina' & 'Dil duffer' were also popular. Vishal-Shekhar had produced a wholesome entertaining album.

9.Phata Poster Nikla Hero-Pritam Chakraborty

This album contained an interesting mix of songs. 'Tu mere agal bagal' was on top of the charts for many weeks while the melodious numbers 'Main rang sharbaton' & 'Mere bina tu' were loved by the audience. Even the party songs like 'Hey Mr.DJ' & 'Dhating naach' were not disappointing. A good album by Pritam.

8.Kai Po Che-Amit Trivedi

Amit is known for his innovative compositions. Kai Po Che was not an exception. With just 3 tracks 'Manja' 'Shubhaaramb' and 'Meethi boliyan', Amit created an universal musical sensation.

7.Shuddh Desi Romance- Sachin-Jigar

The essence of Jaipur was completely captured by Sachin-Jigar in this album. Each and every song had that Rajasthani touch. The rock-melody 'Gulabi' created quiet a flutter in the music charts as it was undeterred for many weeks. 'Tere mere beech mein' and 'Chanchal man ati random' were other popular numbers.

6.Ramaiya Vastavaiya- Sachin-Jigar

Yet another Sachin-Jigar album. But this time they got better with their compositions. It was the breezy romantic numbers like 'Jeene laga hoon' 'Bairiyan' and 'Rang jo lagyo' that took the album to greater heights. Other notable numbers were the funny 'Peeche chutte', party song 'Hip hop pammi' and the item number 'Jaadu ka jappi'.

5.Chennai Express- Vishal-Shekhar

The South Indian touch to this album was an added advantage. With melodious numbers like 'Titli' and 'Tera rasta', the soundtrack changed its route to the energetic '1234 get on the dance floor', the frolicky number 'Kashmir mein tu kanyakumari' and the enjoyable title song. Vishal-Shekhar had come out with some numbers that were both entertaining and appealing.

4.Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani-Pritam Chakraborty

Pritam seems to have toned up his composing skills. He would not get more better than this. This album is one of the highest grossing soundtracks of the year. With the anthemic 'Badtameez dil', the folksy 'Balam pichkari', the breezy 'Subhanallah' & 'Kabira' and the innovative 'Ilahi', it was an album which had many shades to it.

3.Raanjhanaa-A.R.Rahman

Well, one could say that it was not ARR's best due to a couple of tracks. But it contained some musically rich numbers that are sure to stay with the listeners for a long time. The melodious qawwali type 'Tum tak', the sufi rock 'Piya milenge', the breezy 'Nazar laaye', the purely desi 'Banarasiya' and the creative 'Ay sakhi' were critically acclaimed numbers. Though it was not commercially appealing, I personally love this album. Thats why it made to the 3rd position of my top ten.

2.Ramleela-Sanjay Leela Bhansali

I never knew that SLB could compose so well. 10 tracks in this album and each song gives goosebumps. The enthralling numbers are 'Ang laga de re' 'Lahu mun lag gaya' 'Poore chand' 'Laal ishq' 'Dhoop se'. These numbers made the listeners to drench in the purest form of music. 1.Aashiqui 2-Mithun,Jeet Ganguly,Ankit Tiwari
