With some upbeat tribal rhythm and energetic progression, this song reflects the spirit of the movie. Sivam and DSP's roaring rendition is tailor-made for the character Pushpa. However, the track loses steam mid-way. It could have been a short and crisp song. But some of us would surely hit the skip button to make way for the next number <i style="font-weight: bold;">Srivalli. </i>This song is a sweet rural romance number that hits the right notes. DSP indulges many instruments like the banjo, melodica, saarangi, and some chorus in the interludes and the background to elevate the pleasantness of the song. Sid Sriram is as usual mesmerizing. Chandrabose's lyrics of a man admiring the woman he loves are beautiful. An instant winner!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Next up is the hot and sensuous item number <i style="font-weight: bold;">Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava </i>that has already become a rage. With minimal instruments and interludes, the song focuses more on the female singer Indravathi Chauhan's silky voice. In terms of composition, there's not much to boast about as it contains the same tune for the five quatrains. The song has become a sensation just for the bold and smashing lyrics by Chandrabose and for Indravathi's lascivious rendition. Samantha is sure to scorch the screens with her moves in this song. <i style="font-weight: bold;">Saami Saami </i>is another highly danceable number that focuses on the woman's love for her man. With energetic beats, the song is sure to give a boost to your lazy mornings. Mounika Yadav's powerful voice would stay with you for a long time. Though the song reminds us of <i>Rangamma Mangamma </i>from Rangasthalam, it possesses a uniqueness that's unmatchable. Rashmika's hook step is already trending, so this song would surely set the screen on fire!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The last track of the album is <b><i>Eyy Bidda Idhi Naa Adda.</i> </b>Yet another upbeat number with a bland tune and a monotonous progression. DSP's composition has no catchy factors, it would cater only to C-grade listeners. Even Nakash Aziz's rendition cannot save the song from becoming a damp squib.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Verdict: </b>It's no wonder that <i>Pushpa - The Rise </i>is a commercial movie. So, the songs are also commercial and cater to a mass audience. Devi Sri Prasad is the perfect composer for such instant chartbusters.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Rating: </b>3/5</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Picks: </b><i>Srivalli, Saami Saami, Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava</i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i><br /></i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Listen to the album here:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">

It is a breezy romantic duet that's perfect for montage sequences between the lead pair. It is so good to hear Chinmayi sing in her nightingale voice. Her vocals have been rendered the double effect which is quite beautiful. Haricharan's rendition feels like honey to the ears. The interludes and background are replete with guitar strums, subtle piano notes, ukulele, and flute. Next up is the philosophical <i style="font-weight: bold;">Yaar Vazhiyil </i>in the voice of Dhanush. The song is reminiscent of <i>Ulaginil Miga Uyaram </i>from Naan. Radhan uses minimal instruments making it a simple yet thought-provoking song. Read our full song review here.</div><div><br /></div><div><i style="font-weight: bold;">Un Pirivu </i>begins with a lilting piano section. The song is a moving heartbreak number with RJ Vijay's poignant lyrics. Sooraj Santosh emotes well with his classy rendition. The string section in the interlude is radiantly arranged. Short, yet sweet! </div><div><br /></div><div>The last song in the album is <i style="font-weight: bold;">Unakkaagave, </i>a feel-good song that oozes warmth all over. Sathyaprakash is always a delight to listen to. Maathevan's lyrics effuse positivity and would make you feel good about yourself. The interlude is peppered with scintillating piano and veena along with some amazing string progression. And the specialty of the number is the long outro towards the end of the song. The last time we heard such a long outro was in <i>Rehna Tu. </i>This outro is dotted with mesmerizing <i>swarajathis </i>and humming.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Verdict: </b>Radhan belts out such a soulful album that you'd want to listen to it repeatedly. The album has an old-school charm that can induce nostalgia in you.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Rating: </b>5/5</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Picks: </b>The whole album! </div><div><br /></div><div>Listen to the album here:</div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">

The movie has an ensemble cast - Ashok Selvan, Nasser, Riythvikaa, Abi Hassan, Reyaa, Manikandan, Anupama Kumar, Anju Kurian, and more. Produced by Trident Arts, the movie has music by Radhan, who has composed music for popular movies like <i>Andala Rakshasi, Arjun Reddy, </i>and <i>Adithya Varma.</i><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i>Yaar Vazhiyil </i>starts with a mellowed rhythm that veers into the soul-searching mode with Dhanush's rendition. The song sounds more or less like an Ilaiyaraaja number. Radhan weaves a heartrending tune that is tailor-made for a singer like Dhanush. The ebullient female chorus <i>'Idhuvum kadandhu pogum...' </i>gives the song a magical touch. </div><div><br /></div><div>Snehan's lyrics are so poignant that you will be quoting the lines long after listening to the song. Since the Hindi version has a separate soundtrack, the anticipation has doubled. The first single, <i><a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2021/12/aashiqui-aa-gayi-radhe-shyam-single.html?m=1">Aashiqui Aa Gayi</a>, </i>is already trending and is the most streamed Hindi song across all music streaming platforms. On December 6th, the makers released a teaser of the second single, <i>Soch Liya, </i>which captured many hearts. The full song was released yesterday. <div><br /></div><div>The subtle piano notes in the prelude set the somber mood of the song. Arijit Singh's voice is moving that sadness drips from every line crooned by him. The ballroom-kinda rhythm complements well with the melting tune. In fact, this number sounds way better than <i>Aashiqui Aa Gayi. </i>There's some kind of pleasing vibe to the entire song that you'd surely play on repeat.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/3gc2Rho0Tn8i4LBgf6f2O5" width="300"></iframe></div>
</div><div><br /></div><div>The quintessential humming of the base tune gives the song a dreamy feel. Manoj Muntashir's lyrics are raw, heartbreaking, and sad. The switch over to the next octave towards the end is brilliant. Mithoon has given us a poignant number that is sure to burn the charts for the next few weeks.</div><div><br /></div><div>The visuals of the song contain scenes taken straight out of a fairytale book. Vintage props are used to enhance the setting of the love story. It must be a treat to watch Manoj Paramahamsa's stunning cinematography on the screen. Prabhas and Pooja Hegde are two eye-candy lovebirds in the song.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/euEGLJbe_P0" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div>

Daler Mahendi is the soul of the number and he is in full form. Since this is the intro track of Akshay Kumar, it's gonna trailblaze the charts for a long time. Another song to join the bandwagon of Rahman's instantly-catchy songs. Up next is the already popular <i style="font-weight: bold;"><a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2021/11/chaka-chak-atrangi-re-single-review.html?m=1" target="_blank">Chaka Chak</a> </i>that's gonna become a staple in all the weddings in the upcoming days. This danceable number in the voice of Shreya Ghoshal is the South Indian-ish <i>Param Sundari. </i>An instant winner!<div><b style="font-style: italic;"><br /></b></div><div><i></i><b style="font-style: italic;">Tere Rang </b>opens with some racy chorus that soon escalates to a mesmerizing Hindustani chorus. Haricharan yields the megaphone with ease. Shreya Ghoshal wears her <i>Banarasiya </i>avatar and croons like a nightingale. The repetitive <i>'tere rang rang...' </i>is sure to linger in your ears for a long time. Soon, classical dancers would be shaking a leg to this number. First melodious pick of the album! Next up is the peppy <i style="font-weight: bold;">Little Little </i>in the voice of Dhanush. The piccolo in the first interlude must probably be the theme of Dhanush's character. With a foot-tapping rhythm, the cuteness in the song is irresistible. Dhanush is aptly supported by chorus and Hiral Viradia whose mellowed rendition is a plus point of the song. A special mention to the fast-paced <i>kuthu </i>outro at the end of the song.</div><div><br /></div><div>Arijit Singh croons the pathos <i style="font-weight: bold;">Tumhein Mohabbat. </i>At first, the guitar strums deceive the listener (one must think that it would be an unplugged lounge song), but then Rahman takes us on a moving Hindustani ride. Interspersed with some haunting lines, the song would take time to grow on you, but it's all worth it in the end. <i style="font-weight: bold;">Rait Zara Si </i>is easily the best song of the album. One can listen to <a href="https://kavyajanani.wordpress.com/a-r-rahman/" target="_blank">Rahman</a> of the 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s in this beautiful track. The song has a breezy aura that turns addictive with every listen. The effervescent folk rhythm gives the song a classical touch. Though the song is owned by Arijit Singh, Shashaa Tirupathi brings in a whiff of fresh air with her two lines. The choral humming <i>'vaasam veesudhadi...' </i>is haunting.</div><div><br /></div><div>Rahman ropes in Flamenco gypsy music for the last number <i style="font-weight: bold;">Toofan Si Kudi. </i>Right from the chorus in the prelude till the end line, there's no one dull moment in the song. The tune is kinda addictive and it will make you want to listen to the track on repeat. Rashid Ali-ARR combo has already given us some mind-blowing songs like <i>Kabhi Kabhi Aditi, Kahin Toh, Cry Cry, </i>and <i>Nazar Laaye. </i>No wonder this song is another gem from Rashid.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Verdict: </b>A.R. Rahman belts out yet another roaring soundtrack for Aanand L. Rai. Much like <i><a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2013/06/raanjhanaa-music-review.html?m=1" target="_blank">Raanjhanaa</a>, </i>this album too has lots of traditional, classical, and folk touches (though it cannot be compared to the unbeatable Raanjhanaa). All the songs have a South Indian-ish touch since Dhanush plays a Tamilian in the movie.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Rating: </b>4/5</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Picks: </b><i>Rait Zara Si, Tere Rang, Chaka Chak, Toofan Si Kudi</i><br /><div><br /></div><div>Listen to the album here:</div></div><div><br /></div>

Recently we had <i><a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2021/12/jail-music-review.html?m=1" target="_blank">Boomiku Nee Vandha</a> </i>from Jail. Now, it's <i style="font-weight: bold;"><b>Mother Song</b> </i>from Valimai. Yuvan Shankar Raja has already given us beautiful songs on this theme - <i>Aarariraro, Nizhalinai Nijamum, </i>and <i>Amma Song. </i>This time he takes it two notches higher by composing a heart-melting tune. <div><br /></div><div>Beginning with a moving flute section, the song engages a slight rhythm to set the mood. Listening to Sid Sriram croon this number in his elegant voice is pure bliss. Everything about this song is so pleasing. Especially, Vignesh Shivan's lyrics would drive everyone to tears. Every line is quotable and that's the true beauty of the song. The lines <i>'Amma en mugavari nee...Amma en mudhalvari nee...' </i>is addictive and would surely bring a lump in your throat.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/0VFWGbcDfPMFjXxjZJ9vgd" width="300"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>
</div><div>Yuvan dots the interlude with another warm flute section. Since the song has only one charanam, we will be left wanting more and more of it. If you want to gift the perfect ode to your mother, make her listen to this song.</div><div><br /></div><div>Produced by Boney Kapoor, <i>Valimai </i>is one of the most anticipated films. This Ajith starrer will release on Pongal. The film also has Huma Qureshi and Sumithra playing supporting roles. The music is composed by <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2018/03/14-must-listen-albums-of-yuvan-shankar.html?m=1" target="_blank">Yuvan Shankar Raja</a>. This is his 8th collaboration with Ajith. Already, the first single <i>Naanga Vera Maari </i>turned a mass hit and is still ruling the playlists. We are sure that the entire album would be hailed as one of Yuvan's bests </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Kavya Jananihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02110726991005020477noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856456028044323713.post-74896370265226661172021-12-06T07:06:00.002-08:002021-12-10T20:21:33.987-08:00DMB Picks - Weekly Earworms 29.11.2021 - 05.12.2021<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhDeQA4nMFyxgitEEGkCSBdvuHKo9FLKiG9JtqSOCoJo8_i7Km-b4l_KsPGGAhn3ovF-1CxPzIZv5yUs6kMMt-Qg4Y5-GvdLQMw5uYcQuTi8rYExNIdPMEm5TOIJm1PlWmmhC0lDuKhE-9XTj5eFjmX8SSraVzWK3BHQ_aHioT6DmaPrudnAvhamcdY=s1000" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="1000" height="192" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhDeQA4nMFyxgitEEGkCSBdvuHKo9FLKiG9JtqSOCoJo8_i7Km-b4l_KsPGGAhn3ovF-1CxPzIZv5yUs6kMMt-Qg4Y5-GvdLQMw5uYcQuTi8rYExNIdPMEm5TOIJm1PlWmmhC0lDuKhE-9XTj5eFjmX8SSraVzWK3BHQ_aHioT6DmaPrudnAvhamcdY=s320" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><h4 style="text-align: left;">1. Meherezylaa - Maanaadu</h4><div>What with the release and success of <i>Maanaadu, </i>we became more and more addicted to this Islamic wedding song. Ebullient beats, Yuvan's peppy singing, Bhavatharini's melodious cameo, and the Arabic chants make this number an instant winner.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/2kAZP4MIGCitpBHn358pgU" width="300"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>
</div><h4 style="text-align: left;">2. Thala Kodhum - Jai Bhim</h4><div>This rustic track with inspirational lyrics is like a warm hug to troubled hearts. The guitar strums, flute, and veena section in the interlude, and Pradeep Kumar's heavenly voice make this song sound like an Ilaiyaraaja song. Keep some tissues handy when you're listening to this.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><h4 style="text-align: left;">3. Chaka Chak - Atrangi Re</h4><div>This number's gonna be a staple in all the upcoming weddings. Read our <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2021/11/chaka-chak-atrangi-re-single-review.html?m=1" target="_blank">review</a> of the song to understand why we are addicted to it.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/5pbOpE6CfRgGnPPZJSDfME" width="300"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>
</div><h4 style="text-align: left;">4. Thiraiyoadu Thoorigai - Radhe Shyam (Tamil)</h4><div>Indian music needs such musically rich songs to keep up quality. Justin Prabhakaran and Sid Sriram seem to have been in an otherwordly state while composing and crooning this song. Read our review <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2021/12/radhe-shyam-second-single-review.html?m=1" target="_blank">here</a>. The song is also in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, and all the versions are equally beautiful.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/7obXTjMlADOJyIB6GjSgDw" width="300"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>
</div><h4 style="text-align: left;">5. Two Two Two - Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal</h4><div>This song is the next <i>Yammadi Aathadi. </i>Sunidhi Chauhan and Sanjana Kalamanje compete with each other through their powerful voices, while Anirudh is as usual his peppy best.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/6C8JJFoGC4dkVtAHVK3iif" width="300"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>
</div><h4 style="text-align: left;">6. Ilaveyil Ilaigalil - Maraikkayar Arabikadalin Singam</h4><div>Though the original version of this song is in Malayalam, we love this version. Chinmayi and Sathyaprakash sound so natural that the song feels like an original Tamil composition. This one joins the bandwagon of our favourite semi-classical numbers. Composer Ronnie Raphael is a promising musician to look for.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/5FyDMdZ9nj6tF0byANWjVi" width="300"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>
</div><h4 style="text-align: left;">7. Aashiqui Aa Gayi - Radhe Shyam (Hindi)</h4><div>This breezy romantic ballad composed by Mithoon has become the most-streamed song. And the video of this track has crossed 34 million views. No wonder this song finds a place in our earworms list. </div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/7I6mwEFQwpTu5ciVZWFpd4" width="300"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>
</div><h4 style="text-align: left;">8. Tum Tum - Enemy (Tamil)</h4><div>A dreamy wedding song. If <i>Meherezylaa </i>caters to Islamic weddings, this number is perfect for Hindu weddings. Thaman's danceable beats, the addictive humming, and the repetitive <i>'tum tum' </i>make this song all the more celebratory.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/3H3x4NhR3wJh6IvRHmPvkd" width="300"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>
</div><h4 style="text-align: left;">9. Aagoozhilae - Radhe Shyam (Tamil)</h4><div>Sounding like a Yuvan Shankar Raja number, this extremely catchy romantic song brings in a whiff of nostalgia. Justin Prabhakaran's old-school tune is pleasing and is sure to be on the playlists for a long time. The song is also available in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.</div><div><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/1jSGr4oubc6QhwcaHAZ6C0" width="300"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Listen to the entire playlist here:</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div>

Right from the word go, melody oozes from every corner of the song. The track is peppered with breezy flute sections and pleasing string progression. Dhanush scores with his casual rendition while Aditi sounds like Chinmayi with her mellifluous singing. This one is a definite winner. Up next are three folk tracks with <i>gaana </i>elements. <i style="font-weight: bold;">Pathu Kaasu, </i>sung by <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2013/08/raja-rani-music-review.html" target="_blank">G.V. Prakash</a>, is a short ode to friendship. Nothing special in the number. It's enjoyable as long as it lasts. <i style="font-weight: bold;">Mutta Parotta </i>is the quintessential gaana song that's crooned by gaana singers Guna and Ganesan. With crass lyrics, the song is reminiscent of Deva's gaana songs and is sure to be a hit in the C-grade centers. <i style="font-weight: bold;">Missah Missesah </i>is the best of the three because it sounds better and is kinda foot-tapping. Also, female gaana singer Isaivani makes the song a lot better with her powerful rendition. </div><div><br /></div><div><i style="font-weight: bold;">Nagarodi </i>is another strength of the album. Ananya Bhat sets the song on fire with her radiant voice that packs a punch with every line she sings. Arivu quips in for some classy rap, while GVP croons like a pro. The repetitive <i>'Nagarodi naga nagarodi...' </i>is so catchy and addictive. Next up is <i style="font-weight: bold;">Doomangoli </i>which is high on techno beats and sounds like an electro house song with local elements in it. Arunraja Kamaraja's rendition is a plus point of the song. Though there's nothing to boast about in the number, it will be aired on the radio stations repeatedly. <i style="font-weight: bold;">Boomiku Nee Vandha </i>is a mother-son sentiment song that's high on emotion. Beginning with a mystical humming, the song is taken over by Ravi G whose voice flows seamlessly over the beautiful tune. Saindhavi pops in with her sickly sweet voice and owns the few minutes that she gets to croon. The violin in the interlude is mesmerizing and can overwhelm listeners. Snehan's heart-melting lyrics are sure to be quoted for a long time.</div><div><br /></div><div>The album reaches its finale with two themes. <i style="font-weight: bold;">A Moment of Trance </i>has been composed on the lines of <i>Celebration of Life </i>from Aayirathil Oruvan. This highly danceable theme is sure to brighten up your lazy mornings. <i style="font-weight: bold;">Ecstatic Folk </i>stays true to its title. It would be mostly played during the hero's moment of achievement. The humming blends perfectly with the theme.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Verdict: </b>Jail is an enjoyable soundtrack with a couple of melodies and a whole lot of gaana songs that'd surely cater to many youngsters.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Rating: </b>3/5</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Picks: </b><i>Kaathodu Kaathanen, Nagarodi, Boomiku Nee Vandha, A Moment of Trance</i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div>Listen to the album here:</div><div><br /></div><iframe allow="autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="380" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/album/2N1oYjVkwIxvNpBcuGvNCy?utm_source=generator" width="100%"></iframe>Kavya Jananihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02110726991005020477noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856456028044323713.post-62670764173063796682021-12-02T20:19:00.000-08:002021-12-02T20:19:09.582-08:00Radhe Shyam Second Single Review<p> Just as we are basking in the melodious <i><a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2021/12/aashiqui-aa-gayi-radhe-shyam-single.html" target="_blank">Aashiqui Aa Gayi </a>, </i>the makers of <i>Radhe Shyam </i>have released the second single of the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions. The single which was supposed to release on Dec 1st was <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CW7zW0gsWE4/" target="_blank">postponed to Dec 2nd</a> because of legendary Telugu lyricist <b>Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry's </b>passing away. So, anticipation for the single increased within another 24 hours. Also, the <a href="https://youtu.be/L_3dUOGIURg">teaser of the song</a> which just had an instrumental bit created such a buzz that the upcoming song was the talk of the town.</p><p>The Telugu and Tamil versions, titled <i><a href="https://youtu.be/DCRqeCH21Qo">Nagumomu Thaarale</a> </i>and <i>Thiraiyoadu Thoorigai, </i>are crooned by Sid Sriram, while the Kannada and Malayalam versions, titled <i><a href="https://youtu.be/fV1b36Dr9zs">Naguvantha Thaareye</a> </i>and <i><a href="https://youtu.be/NB41VJNpnU0">Malarodu Saayame</a>, </i>are sung by Sooraj Santhosh. Composed by Justin Prabhakaran, this mellifluous classical number opens with a dreamy prelude that's dotted with a mesmerizing flute section. Sid Sriram's (Sooraj Santhosh for Kannada and Malayalam) honey-dipping voice seeps into your eardrums to create an ethereal experience.</p><p style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yVtEKQrnXTc" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></p><p>There are so many intricacies in this song that I can speak about it forever. First, there are two stanzas which are a rare occurrence these days. Second, there are a lot of instruments used which makes the track an experience. Sitar and Veena in the first interlude, guitar strums in the second interlude. Then there are other instruments like Santoor, Swaramandal, Mandolin, and Hawaiin Guitar.</p><p>Third, the backing vocals turn the song transcendental. Especially, the choral line <i>'Kaalame nee uraindhu...' </i>takes the listener to another dimension (with the beautiful chant <i>Radhe Shyam </i>woven into it). Though the song is similar to Justin's <i><a href="https://open.spotify.com/track/2evwKEXIO4b6y7aOnkUvxu?si=qdNGnmusSwCSZ0sLEHud6Q&utm_source=copy-link">Pularaadha</a> </i>from Dear Comrade, the song still is unique and is going to rule our hearts for a long time.</p><p>The lyrics for the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions are written by Krishna Kanth, Madhan Karky, Dhananjay Ranjan, and Joe Paul respectively.</p><p>Listen to all the versions <a href="https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3acMb0uJOOrwC0iUkEMXth?si=gnCmCqVoRpy25a-K3u1sEA&utm_source=copy-link">here</a>.</p>Kavya Jananihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02110726991005020477noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856456028044323713.post-55544059008118720892021-12-01T06:53:00.002-08:002021-12-08T05:38:18.197-08:00Aashiqui Aa Gayi - Radhe Shyam (Hindi) Single Review<i>Radhe Shyam </i>is one of the most awaited pan-India projects. The movie is simultaneously made in two languages - Hindi, and Telugu, while it is dubbed in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Starring Baahubali-fame Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, the film has created a huge buzz with its <a href="https://youtu.be/3DNiJrqW_U8">glimpse</a>, character teaser, and <a href="https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6tnHXI5sxUosni2OVvhABU?si=DGAv2szCSJ-gaXnaEQZXWQ&utm_source=copy-link">first single</a>. <i>Maine Pyar Kiya </i>fame Bhagyashree will be seen playing Prabhas' mother in the movie. The music is composed by <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2015/07/orange-mittai-music-review.html?m=1">Justin Prabhakaran</a> for Telugu and other dubbed versions, while the Hindi version will have a separate soundtrack composed by <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2014/06/ek-villain-music-review.html?m=1">Mithoon</a>, Amaal Malik, and Manan Bharadwaj.<div><br></div><div>The first single, <i>Aashiqui Aa Gayi, </i>was released today at 11.00 AM. The song is an out-and-out romantic ballad. Opening with subtle guitar strums, the song breaks into full love mode with Arijit Singh's buttery rendition. The composition is simple, but it can instantly hook you on if you are a <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/search/label/Bollywood?m=1">Bollywood</a> mush enthusiast. </div><div><br><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/c-NaCU2n8jg" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div>
</div><div><br></div><div>The only let-down is that the song sounds very similar to other compositions by Mithoon. In fact, the number seems like an identical twin to 2016's popular romantic song <i><a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2016/01/sanam-re-music-review.html?m=1">Sanam Re</a>. </i>What more? My Spotify played Sanam Re just after Aashiqui Aa Gayi. Even a music streaming app could find that the song was a carbon copy. </div><div><br></div><div>However, respite comes in the form of a chorus at the end which gives a grand finale to a usual love song. The humming <i>'Oh hooo oh hooo...' </i>is quite addictive<i>. </i>Mithoon's lyrics are heart-melting and soon you can find the lines from the song being posted on WhatsApp statuses and Insta Stories. No matter what, <i>Aashiqui Aa Gayi </i>is going to trend and stay as a chartbuster for a long time. The visuals of the song are eye-candy, dreamy, and fairy-tale-like. Kudos to Manoj Paramahamsa for the pleasing cinematography!</div><div><br></div><div>Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, <i>Radhe Shyam </i>is touted to be a period romantic drama with sci-fi elements in it. It is jointly produced by UV Creations, Gopi Krishna Movies, and T-Series. The tentative release date is January 14th, 2022.</div>Kavya Jananihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02110726991005020477noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856456028044323713.post-67833899778355377852021-11-29T07:41:00.003-08:002021-11-29T19:44:13.841-08:00Chaka Chak - Atrangi Re Single Review<i>Atrangi Re </i>is <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2015/05/tanu-weds-manu-music-review.html?m=1">Aanand L. Rai's</a> upcoming movie. Touted to be a musical love triangle, the movie has <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2013/06/raanjhanaa-music-review.html?m=1">Dhanush</a>, Akshay Kumar, and Sara Ali Khan playing the lead roles. The music is composed by Isaipuyal <i>A.R. Rahman. </i>The soundtrack is said to contain traditional and folk-based songs along with a couple of melodies to tug at your heartstrings. Produced by T-Series, Colour Yellow Productions, and Cape of Good Films, the film is all set to release on December 24th on Disney+ Hotstar.<div><br></div><div>The <a href="https://youtu.be/x3oMm5JGXZM">trailer</a> of the movie was released a few days ago. It was received well by fans of the lead stars. T-Series released the first single from the movie today. Titled <i>Chaka Chak, </i>the song begins with Rahman's signature flute drops and moves on to some foot-tapping beats. Once <a href="https://open.spotify.com/artist/0oOet2f43PA68X5RxKobEy?si=dnTLIKg_SdCGkJpkJdvUfg&utm_source=copy-link">Shreya Ghoshal</a> takes over, there's no one dull moment in the song. </div><div><br></div><div>As seen in the visuals, the song is set in a South Indian engagement. So, the song also sounds South Indian-ish throughout. With high energy beats and an ebullient <i>nadaswaram </i>section in the first interlude, this danceable number takes me back to Rahman's <i>Azhagiya Tamizh Magan </i>days. </div><div><br><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZS4V05gAy9k" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div>
</div><div><br></div><div>Also, this number joins the bandwagon of <a href="https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1YmOnws7XGwCEUoLzLM3kb?si=-N5UZXE6SlyGsP8KrZKACg&utm_source=copy-link">instantly-catchy-Rahman-songs</a> that cater well to the youngsters of this generation. The cacophony of drums, mridangam, tabla, and ghatam in the second interlude deserves a special mention.</div><div><br></div><div>Listen to the full song <a href="https://open.spotify.com/track/5pbOpE6CfRgGnPPZJSDfME?si=w0pc03xdTsKFhiXmkqvj9g&utm_source=copy-link">here</a>.</div><div><br></div><div>After the sensational <i><a href="https://open.spotify.com/track/3KeMulXbLDJBQdY5PZbGEh?si=NcTIkHcsSoqjvrl_u6ah5Q&utm_source=copy-link">Param Sundari</a>, </i>Shreya Ghoshal gets to croon another chartbuster. With Sara Ali Khan's scorching dance moves, this song is sure to stay on the charts for a long time. It would feature when a forcefully-married couple, Dhanush and Sara, return to the former's hometown for his engagement with another woman. Vijay Ganguly has choreographed Sara's enthralling dance moves.</div><div><br></div><div><i>Atrangi Re </i>is also releasing in Tamil as <i>Galatta Kalyanam. </i>You can listen to the Tamil version of this song <a href="https://open.spotify.com/track/5uYBDSIUfUZ4B8ZgbpxNFs?si=xMLMP0Y_SZWcG5uwu_Yh-w&utm_source=copy-link">here</a>. </div>Kavya Jananihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02110726991005020477noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856456028044323713.post-77595308878689730902021-11-28T03:33:00.001-08:002021-11-29T20:02:34.294-08:00Janani - RRR Single ReviewRRR is an upcoming period action drama directed by S.S. Rajamouli. Produced by DVV Entertainments, this movie has Junior NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles, while Samuthirakani and Shriya Sharan will be seen in supporting roles. The music is composed by <a href="https://musicalltheway-music.blogspot.com/2015/06/baahubali-music-review.html?m=1">M.M. Keeravani</a>, a staple in all Rajamouli films. The first two singles have already created enough buzz. Especially, <i><a href="https://youtu.be/Gt9WzC4WDEA">Naatu Naatu</a> </i>has turned sensational, what with some dazzling moves by Junior NTR and Ram Charan.<div><br></div><div>Now the makers have released the third single - <i>Janani </i>- a moving patriotic song. M.M. Keeravani has stated in the song's intro that it is the <i>soul anthem </i>of the movie. It is evident that the song would be played during some pulse-pounding moments in the film. The scenes portrayed in the song's video are heartbreaking to watch, like that of a boy killed by a gunshot. The montage also shows the various sacrifices made by the characters during the war. Overall, the video invokes patriotism in every one of us.</div><div><br><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xdpJWh5u-EI" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div>
</div><div><br></div><div>The song begins with a mesmerizing harmony of strings. Later, the chorus takes over and the song progresses beautifully. The heart-melting melody is peppered with lyrics that speak of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters who ensured peace to prevail while fighting the British. M.M. Keeravani also croons the haunting line <i>'Janani...' </i>which is sure to linger for a long time after listening.</div><div><br></div><div>RRR is touted to be a fictional story that portrays the struggles of Telugu tribal leaders Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Junior NTR plays the role of Komaram and Ram Charan will be seen as Alluri Sitarama Raju. <i>Janani </i>is sure to invoke tears in our eyes when it is played in the theater. The song is released as <i><a href="https://youtu.be/oSI5jC6l-Hw">Uyire</a> </i>in Tamil, while it is titled <i>Janani </i>in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.</div>Kavya Jananihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02110726991005020477noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856456028044323713.post-22675430107217121282021-03-05T02:28:00.006-08:002021-11-28T03:00:05.311-08:00So Baby - Doctor Movie Single Review<p>The makers of <i>Doctor </i>have released the third single from the movie. It's titled 'So Baby'. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.</p><p>On the first listen, the song resembles <i>Remo Nee Kadhalan </i>from the movie - Remo. Coincidentally, Remo too had music composed by Anirudh and starred Sivakarthikeyan in it.</p><p>Though Anirudh had stated that the song is a classical-western composition, the song feels rather hurried. The classical humming in middle sounds great, though. The jarring lyrics interspersed with too much techno make the song less catchy.</p><p>The latest trend is to create a fun video with a song in between so as to catch up on views on Youtube and become viral rather than be fully focussed on the song itself. </p><p>We are eagerly waiting for the next single from Anirudh from Doctor movie. </p><p>So Baby - Not so great baby - 2.5 / 5 (two and a half stars) </p><p><br /></p>jaihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08002352095911866484noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856456028044323713.post-11995769220612062412018-05-09T09:16:00.001-07:002018-05-09T09:16:22.913-07:00Veere Di Wedding Music Review<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<h4 style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">1. Pappi Le Loon - Sunidhi Chauhan, Shashwat Sachdev</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The album begins with an energetic number that has girlishness written all over it. The house-mix beats and the crossover with Bhangra in the interlude set the joyful mood of the song. With some synth loops and sensual sounds in the middle, this number scores high on the discotheque quotient. Sunidhi Chauhan's bashful rendition falls short and Shashwat Sachdev's voice is nowhere to be heard. Just an average party track.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">2. Bhangra Ta Sajda - Neha Kakkar, Romy, Shashwat Sachdev</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">A full-on Bhangra is up next in the album. Romy and Shashwat Sachdev entertain the listeners with their respective renditions. However, it is Neha Kakkar's sensuous rendition that stands out. There's nothing new in the orchestration or the arrangement of the instruments. It's just yet another dance number that is present in the movie just to scorch the screens.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">3. Laaj Sharam - Divya Kumar, Jasleen Royal, Enbee</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">This contemporary Punjabi wedding number by White Noise is yet another Bhangra song that is present for a wedding sequence in the movie. Apart from the upbeat rhythm, there's nothing unique in the song to write home about. The singers Divya Kumar and Jasleen Royal do justice to their respective lines. Expect some rigorous dance steps to this number.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">4. Veere - Vishal Mishra, Aditi Singh Sharma, Dhvani Bhanushali, Nikita Ahuja, Payal Dev, Lulia Vantur, Sharvi Yadav</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">After some commercial chartbusters, composer Vishal Mishra brings in a refreshing change to the album with this urban track. His effervescent voice coupled with Aditi Singh Sharma's fruity vocals and the ebullient chorus make this song a lovely listen. The instantly catchy tune brings in an addictive tone to the number and the repetitive phrase 'Veere veere...' is sure to become an anthem in the upcoming days. Pick of the album!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">5. Bass Gira De Raja - Shashwat Sachdev</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Shashwat Sachdev dons the cap of composer again. The specialty of this song lies in the enthralling usage of bass. Coupled with the house-mix rhythm, this number has an interesting arrangement of instruments. Shashwat Sachdev croons with elan, bringing in some semi-classical touches occasionally. Might do even better with visuals.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">6. Aa Jao Na - Arijit Singh, Shashwat Sachdev</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The low-pitched rendition of Arijit Singh is different to listen. And when he goes 'Aa jao na...', his voice sounds like honey to the ears. Shashwat Sachdev indulges in some mellowed piano notes and brings in a breezy soundscape with the dulcet bass sections. The simplistic tune is instantly likeable. Perfect number for a long drive with your loved one!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">7. Dagmag Dagmag - Vishal Mishra, Payal Dev</span></h4>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Composer Vishal Mishra comes up with a quirky number. Right from the word go, the number is surrounded by an addictive atmosphere. Despite having a stereotyped rhythm, Vishal indulges in some funny percussion. His high-pitched rendition along with Payal Dev's joyful vocals make this number a fantastic listen. Enjoyable all the way!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">8. Tareefan - Badshah</span></h4>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Released as a single, this number has been on the top of the charts for a long time. Though its a peppy club song, the lounge-like atmosphere provides an innovative streak. Badshah's rap is top-class, making the song all the more likeable. Expect some upbeat visuals with the leading ladies in this one. Classy finish!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Verdict:</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: georgia, times new roman, serif;"><i>Veere Di Wedding </i>is a cacophony of Punjabi wedding numbers, except a couple of pleasing melodies. Strictly tailored for fat Indian weddings!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: georgia, times new roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>

<h4 style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">1. Hey Hey ILU - Tipu</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Sharreth begins the album with a foot-tapping number that has peppiness written all over it. Despite the interesting sounds and contemporary arrangement, this number falls short of being catchy. Furthermore, Tipu's voice doesn't suit well for this song. The composer could have chosen a young voice to reflect the hero's feelings. Strictly tailored for a one-time listen.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Up next is a breezy melody that sways between mellowed and thumping rhythm at times. Sharreth indulges in some soul-stirring piano notes and an interesting string progression, making the song a delightful listen. M.M. Manasi's honeyed rendition is pleasing to listen, while Yazin Nizar complements her well. The flute in the second interlude is mesmerizing and elevates the romantic mood of the number. Thumbs up!</span><br />

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">3. Right Right Right - Tipu</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Tipu gets to croon yet another forgettable number. Sharreth tries to compose a fast-paced number that should make the audience dance, but he fails miserably in the overall packaging. There's nothing innovative even in the orchestration to write home about. You can give this one a miss, while listening to the album. </span><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Right from the word go, this number has Sharreth's signature style stamped all over it. It is a pleasing melody with light classical touches here and there. The rhythm sways between dulcet and upbeat. However, the transition serves as a refreshing change. Karthik and Saptaparna Chakraorty adopt a dreamy tone to bring out the romantic mood. Perfect for lovey-dovey evenings!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">5. Premika - Sharreth</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The entire song has a stage-play-like feel. With a heavy ballad rhythm, this romantic melody is an interesting composition from Sharreth. He gets to yield the megaphone and does a commendable job. The string progression accompaniment in the background is joyful to listen. Except the 'ra ra' chorus throughout, the song works well in other factors.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">6. Naa Nuvve - Priya Mali</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Here comes yet another mesmerizing romantic melody. Sharreth indulges in some soulful piano notes and unplugged rhythm to create a lovely soundscape. Priya Mali's mellifluous voice adds a contemporary touch to the song. This song is sure to have some emotional montage sequences in the movie. Another classic winner!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">7. Hey Hey ILU - Rita</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">This female version is no different from the previous version. The only saving factor in this version is Rita's ebullient singing. Hope both the versions have striking visuals to make it a hit with listeners. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Verdict:</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Sharreth's soundtrack for this contemporary love story is a mixed bag of melodies and foot-tapping numbers, with only the melodious songs creating an impact.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>

Meyer indulges in some upbeat rhythm and strong orchestration, coupled with the powerful voice of Anurag Kulkarni. The ebullient chorus which goes 'Mahanati...' is magnificent to listen. <div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Going by its soundscape, one can detect that this song might trace actress Savithri's childhood days. The entire song is made up of Paul Raj's exciting tabla beats that provide a stage-play-like feel. Mickey J. Meyer keeps the orchestration minimal and the efforts fall on Ramya Behara's playful vocals. Sirivennala Sitarama Sastry's lyrics are top-class. <div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Mickey J. Meyer goes all classical for this endearing number. Right from the word go, the beauty of this song is accentuated by the soulful soundscape, pleasant rhythm, and flute and veena sections. <div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Here comes a soul-stirring pathos that is sure to trace the downfall of actress Savithri. The mellowed waltz soundscape elevates the gloomy mood of the song. Sunitha's honeyed voice is the icing on the cake and she emotes intensely. The accompanying chorus is an added advantage. <span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1. Sainika - Vishal Dadlani</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This is an ultimately fast-paced song that serves as a dedication to the soldiers of Indian Army. With thumping beats and blaring orchestration, this song is sure to invoke feelings of patriotism in listeners. Vishal Dadlani croons Ramajogayya Sastry's motivational lyrics perfectly with his hoarse voice. This number is sure to scorch the screens, with Allu Arjun playing some tough montage scenes. Chartbuster!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">2. Lover Also Fighter Also - Shekhar Ravjiani</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This song focuses on the hero wooing his love interest. The tune falls under the commercial template and doesn't impact much. Shekhar Ravjiani's vocals are flawless, while the orchestration and arrangement falls short. The only saving factor is the foot-tapping rhythm that would make listeners go for a second listen. Might fare better with the visuals. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">3. Beautiful Love - Armaan Malik, Chaitra Ambadipudi</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Released as the third single, this breezy melody is a pleasing romantic ballad. It has a Bollywood-ish feel because of Armaan Malik's mellifluous voice. Chaitra Ambadipudi complements him well with her lovely vocals. Though the tune is simplistic, Vishal-Shekhar paint it with a effervescent soundscape and make it engaging. This one is sure to climb the charts in the upcoming days. Perfect for a lovey-dovey evening!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4. Maya - Arijit Singh, Ramya Behera</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Another love song continues the soundtrack. The number begins as a melodious one, but soon veers off to a foot-tapping folk section. Then it sways between both the genres. Vishal-Shekhar have handled it well and it doesn't end up as a confusing tune. Arijit Singh renders with elan and Ramya Behera croons at ease. However, it takes time for the tune to sink in and it might not go down well with some listeners.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">5. Yenniyello Yenniyello - Malavika</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This short track is sure to serve as a background for a montage sequence. It has a devotional feel and foot-tapping rhythm that make it an engaging listen. Malavika's sweet voice and the ebullient chorus elevate the mood of the song.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">6. Iraga Iraga - Rahul Sipligunj, Mohana Bhogaraju</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A high-on-energy folksy duet brings the album to a grand finale. The repetitive phrase 'Iraga Iraga...' is sure to become an anthem in the upcoming days. Rahul Sipligunj and Mohana Bhogaraju's powerful vocals increase the intoxicating mood of the song. Expect some scorching dance moves from Allu Arjun and Anu Emmanuel in this one. Though the track is chartbuster material, it falls into a stereotyped folk template.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Verdict:</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Vishal-Shekhar's sophomore Telugu soundtrack is stamped with commercial elements and doesn't have any innovative songs. However, it is sure to enchant Allu Arjun's fans and might stay on air for a long time.</span></div>

<h4 style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1. Kanne Thaai Malare - Vineeth Sreenivasan</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Shaan Rahman opens the album with a pleasing song that spreads a hymn-like feel throughout. The unplugged soundscape makes for a beautiful listen and all the efforts fall on Vineeth Sreenivasan's fantastic rendition. The overall package is an innovative dedication to the Goddess Mookambika, as Shaan Rahman progresses the tune only with the vocals, accompanying piano notes and strings.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">2. Rasathi - Vineeth Sreenivasan, Liya Susan Verghese</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Beginning with an ebullient flute section, this melodious number takes the listeners on a A.R. Rahmani-sh journey. Shaan Rahman's tune is sweet and the accompanying string section is a major plus point. The flute sections, coupled with the mellowed piano notes, chenda melam and the vibrant chorus (Liya Susan Verghese's vocals) in the first interlude, deserve a standing ovation. Magical!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">3. Aanandhame - Anne Amie</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Shaan Rahman continues to weave magic with yet another heartmelting melody. With minimal orchestration, the song scores high on Anne Amie's mellifluous vocals and Vineeth Sreenivasan's backing vocals. The only complaint here is the length. Wish Shaan had composed this as a full-fledged song. Another winner!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4. Endhe Kanna - Megha Josekutty</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A breezy melody is up next in the album. The effervescent soundscape, coupled with debutante Megha Josekutty's honeyed voice, makes for a beautiful listen. Shaan Rahman indulges in abundant piano and strings to make the number all the more wonderful. The accompanying flute and male humming are the icing on the cake. You just cannot stop listening to this one!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">5. Kripaakari Devi - Mithun Jayaraj</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This is yet another dedication to Goddess Mookambika. However, this one has a fast-paced tune with lots of chenda melam and traditional instruments used in it. Mithun Jayaraj's devotional rendition is top-class here. The repetitive chant 'Kripaakari devi...' is addictive. Shaan Rahman couldn't have given a more dashing ending to the album.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Verdict:</span></h4>

<h4 style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1. Ae Watan - Arijit Singh</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This mesmerizing number has patriotism stamped all over it. Dedicated to Alia Bhatt's character Sehmat, this number has a heartmelting tune and moving lyrics by the legendary Gulzar. SEL punctuate the entire song with some bright percussion and brilliant string arrangement. Arijit Singh croons with elan and makes the number an emotional listen. The track traces the journey of Sehmat from a daughter to a wife and then to a spy. First pick of the album!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">2. Dilbaro - Harshdeep Kaur, Vibha Saraf, Shankar Mahadevan</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A mild celebratory song is up next. This number has every element of a wedding song, though it's not energetic and danceable. With its simplistic tune, this song captures every listener who loves light folk music. Harshdeep Kaur is the perfect singer for this number, while Vibha Saraf's occasional quipping elevates the mood of the song. However, it is Shankar Mahadevan's bit towards the end that stands as the highlight. A special mention to the efficient usage of Rabab and Sarangi.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">3. Raazi - Arijit Singh</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Arijit Singh gets to render yet another enthralling number. This song also has a patriotic feel, albeit its light folksy touches. SEL make this number more endearing by indulging the tune in some excellent mandolin sections and a thumping rhythm. Overall, the number has a 90s feel that makes us want more of it. However, it's a lengthy number. Hence, the listeners have much to enjoy and appreciate here. Addictive! Hit the repeat button!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4. Ae Watan (Female) - Sunidhi Chauhan</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This version also has the same mood of the male version. Sunidhi Chauhan gets to display her best here and she renders Gulzar's patriotic lyrics flawlessly. She is accompanied by an astounding kids' chorus. SEL reach the purple patch with this song. Another winner!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Verdict:</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This soundtrack once again showcases Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's versatility. The songs are instant winners and are expected to rule the charts in the coming days.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dubbed as the easiest raga to learn, Mayamalavagowla is the raga that is used to introduce beginners to Carnatic music. This harmonious raga has been extensively used in many <a href="https://kollywood.net/" target="_blank">Tamil film</a> songs. There are songs that have happy tones and then there are songs that have melancholic undertones. Nevertheless, this is a joyful raga that is easy on the ears and an absolute cakewalk for singers. My favourite classical composition in this raga is Thyagaraja's ethereal kirtan <b><i>Tulasi Dalamulache.</i></b> Let us see some Tamil movie songs composed in Mayamalavagowla raga.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6V85OP3TdAChij4wPt5q5lx2UOtP0CE5kcvzd8nJ0jKmQ2pMeZFwNH2kSPR2aWceZwx8nc7F4W05yp9xQKklmITQzd3sYOBNz6_rKq5LNfJQpbfLExgPkuPyUk1o8f5Ivv37JUcpB1sU/s1600/maya.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="315" data-original-width="560" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6V85OP3TdAChij4wPt5q5lx2UOtP0CE5kcvzd8nJ0jKmQ2pMeZFwNH2kSPR2aWceZwx8nc7F4W05yp9xQKklmITQzd3sYOBNz6_rKq5LNfJQpbfLExgPkuPyUk1o8f5Ivv37JUcpB1sU/s320/maya.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The ancient composition <b><i>Govinda Varadha Srihari Gopala</i></b> from the lost Tamil film Thukkaram that released way back in 1938. This movie featured the Carnatic singer Musiri Subramaniam Iyer. Composed by Susarla Dakshinamurthy, the peppy dance number <i style="font-weight: bold;">Azhagaana Ponnu Naan </i>from the movie Alibabavum 40 Thirudargalum. Bhanumathi Ramakrishna's effortless singing would have elevated the sensuousness of the number. Another wonderful composition is from Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy duo. The song <i style="font-weight: bold;">Kallellam Manickka Kallaguma </i>from the movie Alayamani is a perfect example of Mayamalavagowla. Sung by T.M. Soundarrajan and L.R. Eswari, this is one of those rare numbers where this delightful raga is heard in its purest form.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Ilaiyaraaja's foray into this raga began with the composition <i style="font-weight: bold;">Andhapurathil Oar Maharani </i>from the 1977 Sivaji Ganesan movie Dheepam. And then he started composing some mesmerizing numbers in Mayamalavagowla. Some of the popular songs include <i style="font-weight: bold;">Kaadhal Kavidhaigal Padithidum </i>from Gopura Vaasalile, <i style="font-weight: bold;">Poongathave Thaazhthiravai </i>from Nizhalgal (such a beautiful semi-classical composition) and <i style="font-weight: bold;">Nandri Sollave Unakku </i>from Udan Pirappu. There are also many innovative Ilaiyaraaja compositions in this raga which include the devotional <i style="font-weight: bold;">Maariyamma Maariyamma </i>from Karagaattakaaran and <i style="font-weight: bold;">Poova Eduthu </i>from Amman Kovil Kizhakkale. Though there are many more songs to name, these are some of the astounding numbers in Mayamalavagowla.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
A.R. Rahman indulged this raga in its purest form in <i style="font-weight: bold;">Hai Rama Yeh Kya Hua (Hai Rama Oar Varama </i>in Tamil) from the movie Rangeela and the song <i style="font-weight: bold;">Sollayo Solaikili </i>(<i style="font-weight: bold;">Sunta Hai Mera Khuda </i>in Hindi) from the movie Alli Arjuna. The song <i style="font-weight: bold;">Konjum Mainakale </i>from the movie Kandukondain Kandukondain too has traces of this raga and the most recent composition <i style="font-weight: bold;">Oh Nanba Nanba </i>(a catchy foot-tapping introduction song for Superstar Rajnikanth) from Lingaa is based on this raga. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Other songs in Mayamalavagowla are:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Solladi Abirami </b>from Adhiparasakthi</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Andhi Varum Neram </b>from Mundhanai Mudichu by Ilayaraja</div>

The enchanting raga.<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Much like its name, Suddhadhanyasi is a pure classical raga that is enchanting to listen. This fascinating raga has been in film music right from the golden days. It is also the favourite raga for many composers. Let us take a look at all the ancient, medieval and new-age Tamil songs composed in this soulful raga.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnxjI1F7ZXB0Gm7RxmRTZO1MMVd4yveKbVfQJpDGgjSHAJYRuIO_A5R8O0URpRZbAvw8nRG1McGQUYlfxyTjUcf29ZNy3ukZZVmw1MjnqwlHWZYhIFf06dN_OQmCKR8WWKpGCpwKDdOWU/s1600/suddha.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="315" data-original-width="560" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnxjI1F7ZXB0Gm7RxmRTZO1MMVd4yveKbVfQJpDGgjSHAJYRuIO_A5R8O0URpRZbAvw8nRG1McGQUYlfxyTjUcf29ZNy3ukZZVmw1MjnqwlHWZYhIFf06dN_OQmCKR8WWKpGCpwKDdOWU/s320/suddha.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Beginning from the song <i style="font-weight: bold;">Vaa Vaa Valarmathiye </i>from the 1957 Sivaji Ganesan movie Vanangamudi, this raga has been effectively used in many film songs. This song composed by G. Ramanathan and sung by M.L. Vasanthakumari was a huge hit during those days and it incorporates many brilliant <i>sangadhis. </i>In Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy's music, you have <i style="font-weight: bold;">Kangal Enge </i>from the legendary movie Karnan. This evergreen song was beautifully rendered by P. Susheela. Another well-known song which is a rage even today is the number <i style="font-weight: bold;">Thottal Poo Malarum </i>from the movie Padagotti. Composed by Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy, this is an enthralling romantic duet sung by T.M. Soundarrajan and P. Susheela. The remix version composed by A.R. Rahman for the movie New (2004) is also based on Suddhadhanyasi raga. The magical original version 'changed the outlook of this raga in films', as quoted by Wikipedia. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Ilaiyaraaja too has composed many beautiful numbers in this raga. Right from the word go, Suddhdhanyasi is at an intelligent play in <i style="font-weight: bold;">Vizhiyil Vizhundhu </i>song from the movie Alaigal Oyivadhillai. Suddhadhanyasi is written all over in the ethereal <i style="font-weight: bold;">Oru Poongavanam </i>from the movie Agni Natchathiram. Sung wonderfully by S. Janaki, this song became a cult classic as days passed by. The folksy romantic duet <i style="font-weight: bold;">Pothi Vecha Malliga Mottu </i>from Manvaasanai is also based on this raga. Two popular songs <i style="font-weight: bold;">Poovarasampoo Poothachu </i>and <b><i>Manjolai Kilithaano</i></b> from the movie Kizhakku Pogum Rayil also has traces of Suddhadhanyasi. Another mesmerizing Ilaiyaraaja melody <i style="font-weight: bold;">Maalaiyil Yaaro </i>(rendered mellifluously by late Swarnalatha)<i style="font-weight: bold;"> </i>from the movie Chathriyan is also composed in this beautiful raga. Ilaiyaraaja continued this Suddhadhanyasi streak into the 90s too. The songs <i style="font-weight: bold;">Anandha Kuyilin Paatu </i>from Kaadhalukku Mariyadhai, <i style="font-weight: bold;">Kaadhal Vaanile </i>from Raasaiyya and <i style="font-weight: bold;">Deepangal Pesum </i>from Devathai are classic examples of this raga. He has also indulged this raga cleverly in the highly westernized song <i style="font-weight: bold;">Hey Unnai Thaane </i>from the movie Kaadhal Parisu.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Later in the 2000s, Ilaiyaraaja incorporated Suddhadhanyasi in songs like <i style="font-weight: bold;">Ilaiya Nadhi </i>from Manasellam, <i style="font-weight: bold;">Rukku Rukku Roop Kya </i>from Friends and <i style="font-weight: bold;">Enna Solli Paaduvadho </i>from En Mana Vaanil. In the A.R. Rahman composed <b style="font-style: italic;">Kannodu Kanbadhellam </b>from Jeans, Suddhadhanyasi will be interspersed with Abheri raga. Interestingly, Rahman has indulged in this raga for modern numbers like <i style="font-weight: bold;">Majaa Majaa </i>from Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, <i style="font-weight: bold;">Irumbile Oru Irudhaiyum </i>from Enthiran and <i style="font-weight: bold;">Aila Aila </i>from Ai. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b><u>Other astounding Tamil songs in Suddhadhanyasi raga are:</u></b></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Kapi raga is an adorable celestial raga that overflows with intriguing musical notes and oozes melody from all its corners. This raga is interspersed with raga Pilu in many film songs. These songs provide a mesmerizing feel to the listeners. Many Tamil film music composers have indulged in this beautiful raga. There are many Tamil songs composed in this raga. Let's see some of the wonderful numbers based on Kapi. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7mHLFYq_Klakau_ewtqCgl-dRuXNwOzI83aYO7FKCQ-Szdknzi-xfTfRkrtUfwepRpTKu3DIptsqU6_MTMe-k8QF56X8cWW0VVhlTlUETnS58YeS6SV-R31GCGfaLkqT6VZIMmLN3G6g/s1600/kapi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="315" data-original-width="560" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7mHLFYq_Klakau_ewtqCgl-dRuXNwOzI83aYO7FKCQ-Szdknzi-xfTfRkrtUfwepRpTKu3DIptsqU6_MTMe-k8QF56X8cWW0VVhlTlUETnS58YeS6SV-R31GCGfaLkqT6VZIMmLN3G6g/s320/kapi.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The oldest ever composition in this raga is the song <i style="font-weight: bold;">Dhyaname Enadhu </i>from the 1941 movie Ashok Kumar. Rendered ebulliently by legend M.K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, this song displays Kapi at its purest form. Another popular ancient number is <i style="font-weight: bold;">Annaiyum Thandhaiyum Thaane </i>from Haridas. Sung by MKT once again, this <i>sangadhi</i>-filled number shows Kapi's rich classical form. One more ideal example would be the song <i style="font-weight: bold;">Nandabala </i>from the legendary movie Meera. Bharat Ratna awardee M.S. Subbulakshmi would have played with the <i>swaras</i> in Kapi and delivered an ethereal number. The evergreen gem <i style="font-weight: bold;">Senthamizh Thenmozhiyal </i>from Malayitta Mangai is an exhilarating song in Kapi, composed by Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy and rendered amicably by T.R. Mahalingam. This innovative composition still remains as a favourite for semi-classical music lovers. Other riveting old compositions include <i style="font-weight: bold;">Hari Hari Gokula </i>from Tirumal Perumai, <i style="font-weight: bold;">Kaadhal Siragai </i>from Paalum Pazhamum (a heartmelting song sung by P. Susheela), <i style="font-weight: bold;">Manjal Mugam </i>from Karnan, and <i style="font-weight: bold;">Andha Sivagami Maganidam </i>from Pattanathil Bhootam (cult classic composed by Govardhanam). There are also many underrated old songs which are based on this raga.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Moving on to the 80s, the classic example of songs based on Kapi are the ones composed by Maestro Ilaiyaraaja. His endearing song <b style="font-style: italic;">Thumbi Va </b>from the Malayalam movie Olangal is an enthralling piece in Kapi. Its Tamil counterpart <i style="font-weight: bold;">Sangathil Paadadha </i>from the movie Auto Raja is also based on this raga. Ilaiyaraaja's mesmerizing compositions like <i style="font-weight: bold;">Kanne Kalaimaane </i>from Moondram Pirai and <i style="font-weight: bold;">Chinna Thaayaval </i>from Thalapathi are cult classic songs that have Kapi in its purest form. Romantic duets <b style="font-style: italic;">Hey Paadal Ondru </b>and <i style="font-weight: bold;">Ennuyir Neethane </i>from the 1978 movie Priya are some Kapi songs with Pilu touch. Ilaiyaraaja pushed the envelope by composing the foot-tapping folk number <i style="font-weight: bold;">Thanni Thotti Thedi Vandha </i>song from the classically rich movie Sindhu Bhairavi. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://kollywood.net/tag/ar-rahman-latest-news/" target="_blank">A.R. Rahman</a> also utilized this raga effectively in his soul-stirring composition <i style="font-weight: bold;">En Mel Vizhundha </i>from the movie May Maadham. Another remarkable song is <i style="font-weight: bold;">Kaadhal Rojave </i>from Roja (the humming bit is Desh raga). Rahman also used this raga to compose two uplifting songs from the movie Indian. One is the motivational patriotic number <i style="font-weight: bold;">Kappaleri Poyachu </i>and the other is the mellowed composition <i style="font-weight: bold;">Pachaikiligal Tholodu. Oru Poyavadhu Sol Kanne </i>from Jodi is a Kapi song with Pilu touches and the Hindi song <i style="font-weight: bold;">Pyaar Ye Jaane </i>from Rangeela is a moving piece based on Kapi.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Vidyasagar also forayed into Kapi with some of his finest compositions like <i style="font-weight: bold;">Aalanguyil Koovum Rayil </i>from Parthiban Kanavu and <b style="font-style: italic;">Kaadhal Vandhadhum </b>from Poovellam Un Vaasam. Another delightful number in Kapi raga is the underrated song <b style="font-style: italic;">Mazhaiye Mazhaiye </b>from the movie June R (composed by Malayalam composer Sharreth). More recent composition is the song <i style="font-weight: bold;">Urugudhey Marugudhey </i>from the 2006 movie Veyyil. Composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, this song was beautifully rendered by Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<h4 style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">1. Bharat Ane Nenu - David Simon</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">DSP has churned out an inspirational title track that is sure to top the charts for a long time. With a constant rhythm and minimal orchestration, this number scores high on the political quotient. Ramajogayya Sastry's lyrics reflect on the hero's political motives, aims, goals and responsibilities. David Simon's vocals are apt for the slickness that the song requires. Though a bit lengthy, it can play out well along with the visuals.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">2. I Don't Know - Farhan Akhtar</span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">This peppy number has a foot-tapping rhythm and a tune that is instantly catchy. DSP's stamp is all over it. He spices up the song with some brilliant guitar strums and saxophone in the interludes. The song also marks the debut of Farhan Akhtar in Tollywood. He croons like a pro and his Telugu pronunciation is flawless. The overall packaging of the track makes it a chartbuster material.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<h4>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">3. Vachchadaiyo Saamy - Kailash Kher, Divya Kumar</span></h4>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">Right from the word go, this song veers the listeners into a celebratory mood. Ramajogayya Sastry's political lyrics are sure to leave an emotional impact on the screen, coupled with Mahesh Babu's dance steps. Kailash Kher's vocals are perfect for the mood of the number, while Divya Kumar emotes well in the charanams. There's nothing new in the tune. Just a stereotypical DSP template.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div>
<h4>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">4. Ide Kalala Vunnadhe - Andrea Jeremiah</span></h4>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">DSP continues the commercial mood of the album with yet another racy number. But this time it is a refreshing love song that doesn't have any political intentions. With some peppy beats and hard rock orchestration, DSP peps up the romantic mood by throwing in some gentle piano notes and lovely humming in the first interlude and rockstar electronic guitar strums in the second interlude. However, the heroine of the song is Andrea Jeremiah. She croons with elan and is the perfect singer for this track. Highlight of the album!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div>
<h4>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">5. O Vasumathi - Yazin Nizar, Rita </span></h4>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">Finally, DSP wraps up the album with a quintessential romantic duet. The song has a simplistic tune that hooks on to you instantly. In a few days, this song might be fighting for a place in the charts. Though DSP repeats his love song template, it is the vocals of Yazin Nizar and Rita that weave magic. A special mention for the veena bit in the second interlude which continues into the second charanam. Another winner!</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div>
<h4>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">Verdict:</span></h4>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">After a chartbuster soundtrack in <i>Rangasthalam, </i>Devi Sri Prasad dishes out an album that caters strictly to his fans. A commercial mood is stamped all over it, which is actually a cakewalk for the composer.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<h4>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;">Rating: **3/4 (2.75 / 5)</span></h4>
